Business Client need Web Development

Budget: Recommended by industry experts
Time to start: As soon as possible
Project description:
"I have an interactive PDF that already contains all form fields, check-boxes and a visible “Submit” button. My obstacle is getting that button to send the entire, filled-in PDF as an attachment directly to a fixed Gmail address from the user’s desktop Acrobat Reader – silently, with no pop-ups or extra clicks.
Because the form will be completed on desktop only, I want to rely strictly on client-side logic. A pure PDF JavaScript (Acrobat JavaScript) solution is therefore preferred; no external server or web service should be required. If you need to embed a trusted function, certified script, or lean on Acrobat’s JavaScript privileged context, that is fine as long as the final workflow remains self-contained inside the PDF and works under current Acrobat Reader security constraints.
What I need from you:
• Update or rewrite the existing JavaScript embedded in the form so that, upon Submit, the filled PDF attaches to an email and is dispatched through Gmail automatically.
• Ensure the process is silent to the end user—no email client windows, prompts, or “Allow” dialogues.
• Maintain all present form functionality and layout.
• Provide a brief README explaining any required certificate signing or privileged locations the end user must install.
Acceptance will be based on a screen-share demo showing the PDF open in Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows, the form being filled, Submit clicked once, and the completed attachment arriving in the specified Gmail inbox with no further user interaction.
The user just fills the PDF
✔ Presses SUBMIT
✔ And the completed PDF is emailed automatically
✔ No extra pop-ups, no “send email manually”
✔ And solution must work reliably 100%
What I Need (Exact Requirements)
1. A working SUBMIT button inside the PDF
Must send the full PDF (not FDF/XFDF)
Must work on Adobe Acrobat Reader
Must be compatible with most devices
Must trigger a backend script automatically
2. A backend endpoint to receive the PDF
Developer may use:
Google Apps Script
Cloudflare Worker
AWS Lambda
Node.js endpoint
PHP endpoint
Any server that can handle multipart/form-data
3. Automatic Email Sending
When the PDF reaches the backend:
Save PDF Cloud base
Email must always arrive (not spam)
4. PDF File Must Not Break
File must remain readable (we had issues with corrupted PDFs)
The backend must accept binary PDF correctly
The email must contain the correct PDF filled by the user
5. The developer must fix server-side CORS/headers
So the PDF never returns:
“Submission Failed”
“Error 403 Forbidden”
“Cannot connect to server”
“Script function not found”
"Bad Request"
“Content is null”
6. Must work with minimum user effort
The client only:
Fills the PDF
Clicks Submit
Done
Additional Notes / Past Attempts
We already tried:
Apps Script doPost
n8n webhook
Cloudflare workers
mailto
FDF/XFDF
SMTP direct
Different submit formats
Each method had limitations (security blocks, corrupted PDFs, mobile issues).
We need someone who knows PDF internals — XFA, AcroForm, JavaScript, and server handling.
Required Skills
The ideal candidate MUST understand:
Adobe Acrobat JavaScript
PDF submit formats (PDF, FDF, XFDF, HTML)
HTTP POST from Acrobat
Multipart/form-data parsing
Handling binary files
Building small API endpoints
Email sending (SMTP / API)
Deliverables
A fixed PDF file with a SUBMIT button working with:
Mobile (if possible)
Desktop Acrobat Reader
A backend endpoint that:
Receives the submitted PDF
Doesn’t corrupt the file
Sends it via email automatically
Final working system delivered within 1 hour of accepting the job.
Deadline
Urgent — must be delivered within 1 hour
(Immediate hire)
