"I need to add browser-based push notifications to my existing site so I can instantly reach visitors with promotional offers, product or content updates, and real-time user-activity alerts. The solution has to work on both desktop and mobile browsers and be ready to go live as soon as possible.

You will handle the full setup: creating the service-worker script, configuring the permission prompt, and wiring the front-end and back-end logic so I can trigger and segment messages through a dashboard or a lightweight admin endpoint. The final integration should respect current Push API standards and work reliably in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari (on macOS), and the main mobile browsers that support web push.

Deliverables
• Service-worker file and registration code added to my site
• Subscription handling (save, update, remove) with my existing user database or a simple JSON store if easier to demo
• Tested push payloads for the three message types above
• Quick guide showing me how to send a notification manually and through an automated call

Acceptance criteria
• Permission prompt appears and records consent on both desktop and mobile
• Notifications display with my site’s icon and custom title/body text
• Click-through opens the correct URL in a focused tab
• No console errors in the latest versions of major browsers
