Project description:
"I have a steady stream of client projects and can no longer cover every technical meeting myself. I’m looking for a seasoned engineer who enjoys breaking down complex ideas for non-technical stakeholders and can step onto calls as the “face” of our team.
What the engagement looks like
• Part-time and hourly, roughly USD 30 per hour.
• Calls are booked in US time zones; you’ll confirm the calendar in advance and join independently.
• Work is ongoing: today you may clarify a legacy integration, tomorrow you may steer an architectural discussion for a new feature.
Core focus
Software architecture is the heartbeat of this role. Most conversations revolve around evaluating existing codebases, mapping upgrade paths, and advising on best-practice patterns.
Typical project mix
– Maintenance and updates: triaging production issues, scoping refactors, planning phased roll-outs.
– Consulting and advising: preparing high-level diagrams, writing decision records, and guiding the client toward sound technical choices.
What I need from you
• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Confident, jargon-free communication on Zoom, Meet, or Teams.
• The ability to listen first, then translate business goals into actionable next steps.
• A track record of representing a team or agency professionally when the primary lead is unavailable.
Deliverables for each engagement
1. Attend the scheduled call and lead the technical portion.
2. Provide a concise follow-up summary (key decisions, blockers, next actions).
3. If required, create or update lightweight architecture artifacts (e.g., diagrams, ADRs, ticket outlines) in the shared workspace.
Sound like a good fit? Let’s talk and book your first client session." (client-provided description)
