This app and website is a comparison and bill analysis platform built on Google Cloud. It ingests Australian data and extracts structured insights from user-submitted bills via Google Vision.

The current codebase is incomplete. I require a developer who can take a partially built Google Cloud Run + Firebase system and finish it to a production standard without handholding and is able to give timely and succinct updates. This role is not suitable for beginners or developers who rely on guesswork. If you do not have verifiable experience with cloud-native backend systems, we will not enjoy working together on this project.

- Scope of Work

The selected developer will be expected to:

Absorb the existing architecture rapidly and understand the operational flow across Cloud Run, Firebase, Firestore and OpenAI.

Complete all backend logic including:
• Bill-upload handler and Google Vision OCR pipeline
• Extraction and normalisation of billing data
• API ingestion, parsing and automated refresh via Cloud Scheduler
• Savings/calculation engine with accurate tariff modelling
• OpenAI integration

Implement robust infrastructure across Google Cloud including:
• Cloud Run deployment optimisation
• IAM hardening and Secure Secret Manager usage
• Pub/Sub event triggers

Finalise the Firebase layer, including Firestore schema refinement, efficient queries, authentication rules and end-to-end request flow.

Ensure the frontend is mobile-first, fast, properly and fully authenticated and communicates flawlessly with the backend.

Implement full testing coverage, performance profiles and logging/monitoring through Cloud Logging and Error Reporting.

Establish a reliable CI/CD pipeline suitable for ongoing development and future scaling.

Deliver clear documentation that another competent engineer can immediately work from.

The mandate is to finish the project as a functioning, scalable, public-ready product, efficiently and reliably.
