"I need an Android-only application that converts currencies using live, real-time exchange rates and lets users compare multiple currencies side-by-side on a single screen. The core of the project is the API integration that keeps rates current every time the app is opened; please factor in automatic refresh intervals and graceful handling of network errors.

A clean, lightweight Material-style interface is important, with intuitive input fields, a quick search for currency codes, and the comparison view reachable in one tap. Feel free to build in either Kotlin or Java; Android Studio is my preferred environment for the final project hand-off.

Deliverables
• Full Android Studio project with well-commented source code
• Signed release APK and a debug build for testing
• README outlining build steps, external libraries, and the exchange-rate API used
