About Us
Beaver Pumice operates an active pumice mining and processing site in the U.S. We load and ship large volumes of pumice via truck, and we need a simple, reliable, and efficient software system to manage truck loading, tickets, customer orders, and daily production.
Project Overview
We are seeking a freelancer to design and build a custom truck-loading and dispatch management system using Airtable and Google Sheets, with automation layers as needed. The system must be extremely user-friendly for on-site personnel, fast to operate, and reliable in areas with limited connectivity.
The final tool will help our loader operators quickly enter truck data, automatically generate tickets, track loads against customer orders, and sync data to our internal office team.
Key Responsibilities
Design a simple and intuitive workflow for truck loading at the pumice mine.
Build structured databases in Airtable (or Google Sheets if needed for redundancy).
Create easy input screens/forms for loader operators (mobile/tablet-friendly).
Automate:
Ticket generation
Customer order tracking
Daily production summaries
Driver/truck logs
Ensure data syncs smoothly between on-site entry and office staff.
Create reporting dashboards (loads per day, tonnage totals, customer breakdowns, etc.).
Provide basic documentation and brief training for our staff.
Integration (optional but preferred): QuickBooks, [login to view URL], Zapier, or API connections.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience building workflow systems using Airtable and Google Sheets.
Ability to create clean, simple user interfaces suitable for non-technical users.
Familiarity with automation tools (Make, Zapier, Airtable Automations).
Ability to understand real-world operational processes (dispatch, logistics, inventory).
Experience working with construction, mining, or trucking industries is a plus.
