Project description:
"I need an online autosomal DNA analysis tool similar to GEDmatch. The tool should primarily include functionalities for atDNA where a customer uploads their atDNA csv or txt file so that they can see if they match any of the specific atDNA segments we have in our database. Our database will include segments of atDNA that belong to specific historic noble individuals that we have identified through research. The tool needs to be able to compare a customer's atDNA to the specific segments we have in our database. There should be a function that allows the customer to change the segment matching parameters so they can explore how they match our specific atDNA segments at various thresholds. The thresholds would be something like the following:
- very-low-confidence matching segments (very low probability of IBD with 12 generations) at 1-3 cM
- low-confidence matching segments (low probability of IBD within 12 generations) at 3.1-4.9 cM
- lower-medium-confidence matching segment (possible IBD within 12 generations) at 5-5.9 cM
- higher-medium-confidence matching segment (a probable IBD likely between 8-12 generations) at 6-6.9 cM
- high-confidence matching segment (probable IBD likely between 6-12 generations) at 7-7.9 cM
- high-confidence matching segment (probable IBD likely between 6-10 generations) at 8-8.9 cM
- high-confidence matching segment (probable IBD likely between 4-10 generations) at 9-9.9 cM
- high-confidence matching segment (probable IBD likely within 10 generations) at >10 cM
The above matching thresholds/designations still needs redefining and are only examples.
Key Requirements:
- Enable customers to upload their DNA data via file upload (e.g., .csv, .txt).
- Integrate with an SQL database for atDNA segment comparison.
- Includes atDNA segments that have been specifically identified in previous research and assigned to specific ancestors. For example, if the customer matches a specific atDNA segment in our database, they will get the size of the match and a list of ancestors that this atDNA segment is associated with.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Experience in developing atDNA analysis tools with a focus on relationship matching of specific atDNA segments.
- Proficiency in handling file uploads and data processing.
- Expertise in SQL database integration and management.
- Familiarity with autosomal DNA comparison methodologies." (client-provided description)
