"My store runs WooCommerce on the Blocksy theme and uses Advanced Product Fields (Wombat/WAPF) to let customers pick a “material” on a simple product. When a shopper changes the material I want the main product image to switch automatically to the matching gallery image—no fades or slides, just the standard swap.

Blocksy’s gallery keeps the featured image in place until the visitor manually clicks a thumbnail. Triggering a click on the first visible thumbnail with JavaScript hasn’t worked; Blocksy appears to listen on a different element or uses a custom event that ignores synthetic clicks.

I need a clean, future-proof fix—whether it’s a small JavaScript snippet, a PHP hook, or a child-theme override—that:

• Listens to the material field change fired by WAPF
• Activates the correct thumbnail so the main image swaps instantly, every time
• Leaves the image untouched if the gallery script fails (no error messages needed)
