"I want to launch a lightweight social-networking chat app built exclusively for Android. At its core the app must deliver smooth, real-time messaging and let users share photos, videos, and other files directly in the conversation. Voice or video calling is not on the roadmap right now, so you can focus development time on fast, reliable text chat and polished file-sharing flows.

A clean Material-You style interface, Firebase or similarly scalable real-time back-end, and straightforward onboarding screens are all part of the vision. Please build with maintainability in mind—clear architecture (MVVM or similar), commented code, and modular assets will make future feature additions easy.

Acceptance criteria
• Signed APK plus full, compiles-without-errors Android Studio project
• Real-time one-to-one chat with message read status
• Secure file upload/download within the thread (images, documents, up to 50 MB)
• Simple profile page with avatar, name, and status
• Push notifications handled in foreground and background
• Brief README explaining build steps and key libraries used
