"I run a corporate website built with pure HTML + CSS and Google Search Console has started flagging two critical problems: a cluster of 404 Not Found errors on several general content pages and a set of duplicate-URL warnings tied to incorrect canonical tags.

Here’s what I need done:
• Track down and repair every 404 so those pages correctly resolve or redirect.
• Audit and update the canonical tags site-wide so each page points to its single, preferred URL and any duplicates are removed or redirected.
• Carry out a quick but thorough technical-SEO sweep (broken internal links, sitemap references, [login to view URL] directives) to be sure similar issues aren’t lurking.
• Submit the clean URLs for re-indexing in Search Console and confirm the issues clear out on the next crawl.

The codebase is lightweight—no CMS—so you’ll be working directly in HTML, CSS, and perhaps a touch of JavaScript. I’ll provide FTP and Search Console access; once the error count drops to zero and Google accepts the new index, the job is done." (client-provided description)
