Project description:
"I run a BigCommerce store that relies heavily on dropship partners and I need a web-based application that keeps every party in the loop without manual spreadsheets or email chains. The core of the build is real-time order tracking and automatic fulfillment updates: as soon as a supplier ships, their tracking number should flow straight through to my store and on to the customer.
Here’s what has to happen behind the scenes. The app receives new orders from BigCommerce (Retailer API), passes the details to each supplier over their respective APIs, then polls or webhooks for status changes. When the supplier posts a carrier and tracking number, the app must push that data back to BigCommerce and, where possible, hit the relevant shipping-carrier API so the customer’s tracking link resolves immediately.
Because this is purely a web solution, you can choose the stack you’re most comfortable with—Node, Python, or another language—as long as it plays nicely with BigCommerce’s OAuth and uses secure, well-documented endpoints for all three integration layers (supplier, retailer, carrier).
Deliverables
• A hosted web app (or containerised service) that connects BigCommerce orders to multiple supplier APIs and common carriers
• Automated sync of fulfillment status and tracking numbers back to BigCommerce within minutes of supplier update
• Admin dashboard showing order state, sync logs, and error handling details
• Setup documentation and brief hand-off call so I can maintain API keys, endpoints, and basic settings on my own
Acceptance criteria
1. An order placed on my store is visible in the app within one minute.
2. A supplier’s tracking update appears in BigCommerce without manual intervention.
3. All API calls log to a database or file with clear success/error flags.
4. The app handles at least three concurrent suppliers and two major carriers in a test scenario.
If you’ve previously integrated BigCommerce or built dropship automation tools, I’d love to see a quick demo or repo link alongside your bid." (client-provided description)
