"I’m building a real-time, city-wide surveillance platform that watches thousands of ATMs for tampering, unauthorised access, or outright theft. Each terminal will be fitted with an ESP32 board wired to motion, vibration and camera sensors. As soon as any of those sensors trigger, the unit must encrypt the event data, push it to the cloud and let my security team know immediately by SMS, e-mail, mobile push and—when a camera is present—live video.
On the cloud side I need a horizontally-scalable backend (Node.js preferred) that can ingest traffic from 10,000+ ESP32s with minimal latency, route events through a rules engine and record everything for audit. Key acceptance criteria
• ESP32 firmware reliably recognises tampering, vibration or forced-entry patterns and sends signed, TLS-encrypted messages.
• Backend auto-scales, load-balances and stores data redundantly while keeping end-to-end latency under two seconds.
• Dashboard updates in real time without manual refresh and lets staff acknowledge, escalate or close incidents.
• Alerting pipeline delivers SMS, e-mail, push notifications and live video with ≥99 % delivery success.
• Full source code, infrastructure scripts and build instructions supplied so I can redeploy from scratch.
