Project description:
"My WordPress site is running smoothly, the favicon displays fine in every browser tab, and Rank Math confirms it’s set, yet Google’s search results still show a generic icon. I have already double-checked the “Site Icon” area in the Customizer and the theme settings, so the usual quick wins are done.
I’m looking for a focused inspection of everything that controls how the favicon is served to Google: the HTML head markup, any manifest or Apple-touch icons, caching layers, Rank Math’s schema output, and what Search Console reports. An audit of those pieces, followed by the necessary code or configuration fixes, should get the real favicon indexed and visible in the SERPs.
Deliverables
• Diagnosis summary explaining why Google isn’t picking up the favicon
• Clean, permanent fix applied (theme files, [login to view URL], or plugin settings)
• Confirmation in Search Console that the correct icon is recognized
• Short note with steps I should follow if I ever change the favicon again
You’ll have full WordPress admin access, Rank Math settings, and Search Console. Ideally the change propagates within the next re-crawl cycle, but I’ll consider the job complete once the favicon renders properly in a live Google result for at least one page." (client-provided description)
