"I have mapped out a lean WordPress-based MVP that functions as a gated company directory. The build must look and feel professional and corporate, reflecting a business-class SaaS rather than a blog or brochure site.
Core flow
• Companies sign up for free, fill in a profile (name, website, industry, location, description, projects/clients) and appear in the directory only after I approve them from the dashboard.
• Users purchase access through Stripe’s subscription checkout; once the payment succeeds they can browse, search and filter companies. Unpaid visitors see only teaser cards.
• A paywall protects each company’s full profile.
• A simple “Contact this company” button opens a form that sends an email to the company; no internal inbox is required.

Functional scope
1. Registration & billing
– Free company registration workflow with email verification and manual admin approval.
– Paid user registration using Stripe (recurring subscription).
– Automatic role assignment: “Company”, “Paid User”, “Pending Company”, etc.

2. Directory & profiles
– Custom post type or equivalent for company profiles with the specified fields.
– Front-end submission/editing for companies.
– Public listing shows limited data; full profile unlocks for subscribers only.

3. Search & filters
– Keyword search plus filters for Industry and Location (extendable later).

4. Admin controls
– Approve/reject companies, view/edit all profiles.
– Manage Stripe plans, subscribers and cancellations from WordPress/Stripe dashboards.

5. Design & UX
– Clean, corporate UI that can live within a standard premium theme or lightweight custom theme; no bright color palettes or playful fonts.

Acceptance criteria
• Stripe subscription flow tested in both test and live mode.
• Paywall correctly restricts profile pages to active subscribers.
• Company approval queue works and sends status emails.
• Search returns accurate results when filtering by industry or location.
