"I need a lightweight, custom-built web app that lets any visitor paste a YouTube link and either (a) download the video itself in common resolutions or (b) convert it to MP3 and grab the audio. No user accounts or CMS are involved—everything must be coded from scratch.

You’re free to choose the stack (Node.js, Python, PHP, Go, etc.) as long as the code is well-structured, documented, and easy for another developer to maintain. The front end should be clean, mobile-friendly, and show clear progress feedback while the back end handles the heavy lifting through tools such as yt-dlp and ffmpeg (or any alternative you prefer) with automatic cleanup of temporary files.
