Time to start: As soon as possible
Project description:
"I need a streamlined link between Order Desk and ShipStation that, the moment an order is submitted to ShipStation, pulls the customer’s JPEG artwork and pushes it straight to our sublimation printer without any manual steps.
Here’s the exact flow I have in mind:
• Order Desk sends all customer information to ShipStation
• As soon as that order reaches ShipStation, your code fetches the JPEG file from the the product variantion ("print_url")
• The file is then delivered automatically to the sublimation printer’s API/print queue so production can start immediately.
Core requirements
• Robust, documented use of both the Order Desk and ShipStation APIs.
• Error handling that retries gracefully and logs failures.
• A simple configuration file (or environment variables) for API keys and printer settings.
• Clear hand-off documentation so I can maintain or extend the integration later.
Acceptance criteria
1. Creating a test order in Order Desk results in the correct job appearing on the sublimation printer within moments of its arrival in ShipStation.
2. Any network/API failure is logged and retried; I receive an alert only if the job ultimately cannot print.
3. Source code, setup instructions, and a brief README are delivered via Git or a private repository.
If you have previous experience with Order Desk, ShipStation, or direct-to-printer integrations, please mention it when you respond. I’m ready to move as soon as I find the right developer." (client-provided description)
