"I’m rolling out a private LineageOS-based build for dedicated office desk phones and need an engineer who already lives deep inside AOSP. The immediate goal is to re-work the Audio HAL so the phone can implement custom call routing that taps directly into our own audio output / input streams and a dedicated on-board audio processing unit. Alongside that, the telephony stack has to stay fully functional for SIM-based calling.

What you’ll actually touch
• Audio HAL: create and wire a custom routing layer that recognises our bespoke streams and hands them off to the processing unit without latency or quality loss.
• Call path integration: ensure every routing change registers correctly through the telephony framework, including hold, mute, speaker and headset states.
• Native C++ services: expose any new switches or parameters to system services so higher layers can treat the routing as “native”.
• LineageOS build system: patch, compile and deliver reproducible builds for our rooted devices—no Google Play or GMS involvement.

Acceptance once you’re done
1. Flashable ROM that boots on our reference handset and selects the correct audio path on every call scenario (in-call, ringing, VoIP test).
2. Logcat, dmesg and TinyALSA traces proving the new streams are engaged and the dedicated processing unit is used.
3. Clean, rebased Gerrit patches so the changes slot straight into our CI pipeline.
