"I’m building a focused medical billing and coding application and the first milestone is a rock-solid claims management module that can push electronic claims straight to the clearinghouse. Your daily work will revolve around ICD-10, CPT and modifier logic, so hands-on familiarity with those code sets is essential. I need to see evidence—screenshots, repos, live URLs—of projects where you have already embedded medical coding into a workflow or processed ANSI X12 837 files.

Core scope
The immediate goal is electronic claim submission: mapping clinical encounters to the correct ICD/CPT combinations, packaging the 837, and handling the 999/277CA acknowledgements. If you have previously added extras such as automated code matching or audit/reporting tools, mention them; they may become phase-two items.

Tech expectations
You choose the stack, but RESTful APIs, HL7/FHIR awareness, secure database design, and HIPAA-compliant handling of PHI all need to be second nature. Re-use of proven open-source libraries is fine as long as licensing stays commercial-friendly.
