"PROJECT OVERVIEW
• We are seeking an experienced Shopify developer with excellent English skills.
• The task is to update our current, outdated Shopify theme to a new, fully supported theme while preserving the existing design and functionality.
• Clear and precise communication is essential to avoid misinterpretation at all stages of the project.

KEY REQUIREMENTS AND TASKS

THEME UPGRADE
• Migrate our current website to a new, supported Shopify theme.
• Maintain the existing visual design, layout, and functionality of our current website. Note. We have a lot of custom functionality with wysiwyg fields in our current theme editor which needs to be migrated to new theme.
• Carry out all work in an unpublished draft theme so the live site remains unaffected.
• Thoroughly test the new theme for bugs.
• Allow our staff time to thoroughly test the draft theme before it is made live.

CODE CLEANUP AND PERFORMANCE
• Neaten and optimise theme code to improve loading speed and overall performance.
• Remove redundant or unused code from old apps that are no longer in use.
• Identify and resolve existing bugs, including:
a) Formatting issues when creating or saving collections, where collection description text sometimes appears much smaller on the front end than intended after saving.
b) A bug where the “read more” link in collection text removes all text instead of revealing the full text. Example: [login to view URL]

MEDIA SUPPORT
• Ensure the new theme supports video uploads for product images.

NAVIGATION FIX
• Remove the empty blank section below the menu items from the second level dropdown menu: Exhibitions > Past Exhibitions

ARTISTS PAGE SEARCH EDITS
• Update the artist search to be accent insensitive, allowing searches with or without accents. Example: “Jesus Aguado” should return “Jesús Aguado”.
• Fix a bug where the search sometimes cannot be used again without refreshing the page.
• Remove existing buttons: “All”, “Represented” & “Exhibited”
• Add two new buttons:
a) "Featured" which loads as default view, displaying artists in a custom order set in the theme editor (this functionality already exists in existing theme editor)
b) "Alphabetical" which reorders artists alphabetically from A to Z.

LOGO AND DARK MODE
• Add support for two PNG logo files with transparent backgrounds.
• Automatically display a night mode logo when the browser is using dark mode.
• The night mode logo will be provided by my designer.

RESPONSIVE DISPLAY FIX
• Fix the iPad screen size display issue where part of the currency label (e.g. “AUD”) is cut off in the top bar.

FOOTER EDITING
• Add WYSIWYG functionality in the theme editor to allow easy editing of text sections in the footer.

ANNOUNCEMENT BAR APP EDIT
• Make a small adjustment to the Hextom Announcement Bar app so that when the option “Top bar pushes down the rest of the page (always visible while scrolling)” is enabled, the announcement bar appears directly below the sticky navigation bar, as it is currently hidden behind the navigation bar when this option is selected.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
• Strong attention to detail is required.
• All changes should be clearly documented and explained.
