"I’m putting together an in-house project management system that lets us move work from idea to completion while keeping every action traceable and properly authorised.

Core user roles are already defined. Admins need full access to the system along with the ability to manage user roles. Managers must be able to assign tasks, approve them once finished, and pull the reports they need. Team Members simply carry out the work and update progress. The heart of the build is therefore a clean role-based access control layer backed by an approval workflow for tasks.

Beyond that, the system should make it painless to create projects, break them into tasks, route those tasks to the right people, and surface useful progress data on a dashboard. A modern, responsive web UI is preferred; I’m open to the framework you feel most comfortable with—Laravel, Django, Node/Express, or similar—as long as the codebase is well-structured and documented.

Deliverables
• Database schema and migration scripts for projects, tasks, users, roles, approvals, and reports
• Secure authentication plus granular permissions that match the three roles above
• Task lifecycle with status changes gated by the Manager approval step
• Project and task dashboards with basic filtering and exportable reports
• Admin panel for role management and high-level system settings
• Installation guide and brief user manual (PDF or Markdown)

Acceptance Criteria
• A Manager can’t approve or assign without the correct role flag, and a Team Member can’t access any admin or approval screens
• Every approval action records the user, timestamp, and previous status in an audit table
• End-to-end testing script (or Postman collection) shows the full task flow from creation to approval to completion
