"I already have Xibo CMS running smoothly on several screens, but I now need to push it a step further. The goal is to let Xibo talk to our private system through its API, pull the current queue number, and then play a matching pre-recorded audio file (“Number 32, please proceed,” etc.) while updating the on-screen layout.

Here’s what I need done:

• Connect Xibo to our in-house system via the available REST API. Authentication is in place; you will just plug into the existing endpoint that returns the current number in JSON.

• Create logic inside Xibo (module, widget, or external service—use whatever is best) that requests the number at set intervals, triggers the correct announcement file, and advances automatically to the next.

• Make it easy for us to add or replace the audio clips ourselves later. The audio must stay perfectly in sync with the visual update on screen.

• Provide concise documentation: how to deploy the code, map new numbers to new audio files, and adjust polling frequency.

You should already know Xibo’s module framework, Xibo API, PHP or Python (whichever you prefer for this task), and be comfortable working with REST endpoints, JSON, and media libraries.

I have full server access and can supply test credentials for the API plus a handful of MP3 number announcements so you can prove the flow end-to-end. Once you deliver the working integration, I’ll test it live on one player before rolling it out network-wide." (client-provided description)
