Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced C++ Developer to work on custom software solutions in QuarkXPress. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in customizing Quark workflows using XNT (XTensions) files and developing advanced page layout automation and customization features. This role involves working closely with the design and content teams to implement automation, custom tools, and enhancements that improve efficiency and layout precision.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain C++ extensions (XNT files) for QuarkXPress.

Customize and enhance page layout functionalities within Quark software to meet specific client or project requirements.

Work on automation scripts and tools to streamline publishing workflows.

Debug, optimize, and maintain existing C++ code used for Quark integrations.

Collaborate with designers, developers, and content teams to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.

Ensure all customizations are compatible with Quark’s APIs and extension guidelines.

Test and validate all developed features for performance, stability, and cross-version compatibility.

Maintain comprehensive documentation for developed features, workflows, and integrations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong proficiency in C++ (minimum 3+ years).

Experience in QuarkXPress customization using XNT/XTensions framework.

Familiarity with QuarkXPress scripting and automation techniques.

Solid understanding of page layout principles and typography.

Knowledge of APIs, SDKs, and integration techniques for Quark software.

Strong debugging, problem-solving, and optimization skills.

Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git).

Ability to work independently and manage multiple customization projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with desktop publishing software beyond Quark (e.g., Adobe InDesign, FrameMaker).

Familiarity with XML, JSON, or other structured data formats for content integration.
