"I’m building a lightweight desktop application focused on rich, real-time user interaction and I need it to run natively on Linux. The core idea is to give end-users an intuitive interface—think modern, responsive UI components, smooth input handling, and instantaneous feedback without web dependencies.

Scope of work
• Architecture & code: design and develop a standalone desktop executable. I’m happy with C++, Python (PyQt / PySide, GTK), or another mainstream toolkit as long as the final binary installs cleanly through standard package managers or an AppImage.
• UX: craft a polished, consistent UI that feels at home on GNOME, KDE, and other common desktop environments.
• Performance: low startup time, minimal memory footprint, and responsive event handling are crucial.
• Documentation: include a concise README covering build steps and user instructions.

Deliverables
– Compiled Linux binary (Deb package, Flatpak, or AppImage)
– Full source code in a public or private repository
– Build script or Dockerfile to reproduce the build
– Quick-start guide and API/architecture notes

Acceptance criteria
1. Application launches without errors on Ubuntu 22.04 and Fedora 38.
2. All primary interaction flows complete in under 100 ms per user action on reference hardware.
3. No critical issues flagged by Valgrind or cppcheck/pylint (depending on language).
4. README accurately reflects build and usage steps.

If later you can adapt the same codebase for Windows or macOS, that’s a nice-to-have, but the immediate milestone is a polished Linux release." (client-provided description)
