"Imagine sitting at your computer and the only difference you see on screen is a movable, resizable, grid of semitransparent grayed out rectangles, with only one highlighted. The number of rectangles you see will also vary somewhat by the users needs. The free version will only have 2. Lower price tier might allow 4. While top tier pricing will allow for preferably 9 or more if possible, depending on the users choosing. The rectangles shall be lined up in horizontal and/or vertical rows for 3 or less, and in a grid for more. Each rectangle represents a virtual monitor. This is much better than Microsoft's virtual desktop. With multi monitor you will be able to scroll the mouse from one to the next, drag and drop across monitors, and momentary viewing of a screen while the shift + mouse button is held down without upsetting the cursor where the work is taking place. I am recreating the multiple monitor experience as closely as I can without selling you any monitors. Just the software to turn any single monitor into a Multi Monitor.

Scrolling between windows:
when a monitor is positioned next to the current visible monitor. The mouse will have the ability to scroll off one screen and over to the next. When the mouse scrolls past the edge of the screen, the adjacent screen will maximize and the mouse will move to the opposite side of the screen, as if it is coming on to the next monitor the same as it does when you scroll from one physical monitor to the next.
Momentary window viewing function: It needs a hot key to activate the momentary viewing so when you are working on one screen, but you constantly need to access data that is being displayed on another screen. You can leave your mouse over the rectangle that represents the screen to momentarily view. When you need to view it, you can hit the hot key and the mouse button in v.1. In v.2 we will give them a full-on hot key that takes out the mouse click. The big requirement for this function is that as long as the users releases the mouse button first it cannot upset where the cursor is stationed. This bit of polish will keep the user work flow going as smoothly as possible.
V.2 upgrades
a hot key to allow all monitors to be displayed at once.
Hot key upgrade to remove the need to press the mouse button for momentary viewing function activation.
Support for up to 3 physical monitors. Each physical monitor can have x (at least 3) virtual monitors attached to it. Each virtual monitor will be viewed on the monitor it is anchored to. This will allow for many display configurations.
Other considerations:
This app should be packaged for possible corporate licensing agreements.

Overview
The Multi-Monitor application is a Windows-native desktop utility designed to simulate the experience of using multiple physical monitors. It allows users to create and interact with a customizable grid of virtual monitors on a single screen. Unlike traditional virtual desktops, this system provides fluid interaction, drag-and-drop functionality, and momentary screen previews, offering a near-seamless multi-monitor workflow without additional hardware.

Core Concept

Key Features – Version 1 (MVP)
Seamless Monitor Scrolling
• When the mouse reaches the edge of a virtual monitor, the adjacent monitor activates and expands, simulating the experience of scrolling between physical monitors.
• Cursor seamlessly repositions to the corresponding location on the adjacent monitor.
Drag-and-Drop Between Monitors
• Files and windows can be dragged between virtual monitors, just like on a multi-display setup.
Momentary Screen Preview
• This allows the user to peek at another screen's content without losing their current cursor location or interrupting workflow.
• A Shift + Mouse Button combination activates a temporary overlay of a selected monitor. Or any alternative that maintains workflow continuity. Such as a setting that will turn on/off "momentary preview". When on, a single mouse click and hold without the shift key down would then activate the momentary preview. Then a double click will fully activate another screen. Whichever you think will be best for the end users.
• Releasing the mouse button must not disturb the active cursor position, ensuring smooth task continuity.
Application Settings Access
• While hovering over any virtual monitor rectangle, a right-click brings up the application settings menu.
• Settings may include:
o Grid configuration (rows/columns)
o Hotkey assignments
o Preview behavior
o Background style and visual preferences

• Global Hotkey: View all virtual monitors at once.
• Hotkey-Only Preview Activation: No mouse press required to preview other monitors.
• Multi-Physical Monitor Support: Each physical monitor can host its own set of virtual monitors (minimum of 3 per screen), allowing flexible setups.
