"Temporary Freelance Programmer Needed – Android Dropdown Selection Bug (JavaScript)

We are seeking an experienced freelance web developer to diagnose and correct a dropdown selection issue affecting Android mobile devices on our cruise booking website.


Issue Summary:

Our website’s cruise booking engine uses JavaScript-based dropdown (combo box) selectors for filtering and choice selection. Until a few weeks ago, the selectors functioned normally on Android devices. These selectors have previously functioned for years without error.

Currently, on Android phones, a user can select a filter option, but the selection does not persist.
The issue does not occur on:
iOS devices
Windows desktop
Some other Android device platforms (inconsistent behavior)

Our internal review confirms:
AWS backend code is functioning correctly
The issue appears to be frontend-related
We suspect a JavaScript compatibility issue related to recent Android changes (possibly Kotlin-related WebView or browser behavior)


Scope of Work:

Identify the root cause of dropdown selections not persisting on Android phones
Implement a fix that restores consistent selection behavior
