"Our desktop-based school management system is refusing to save new student records reliably—sometimes entries disappear, other times they never make it to the database at all. Everything else in the application runs smoothly, so I’m certain the fault is limited to the data-storage layer that handles student information.

You’ll have full access to the existing source code and the current database schema so you can trace the problem, patch the code, and test the fix end-to-end. I need the solution to work without side effects on any other module (teachers, schedules, fees, etc.).

Acceptance criteria
• A new student record can be created, updated, and deleted with no errors or data loss.
• The fix survives multiple consecutive operations and an application restart.
• No regressions in other parts of the database.
