"Hello,

I’m looking for an Android developer to build a Lean MVP of a food barcode scanning app called ValueMe, by Value Me Health.

This is a small, tightly scoped V1 designed to validate language, logic, and usefulness — not a full-featured product.

About the app
ValueMe scans a food barcode and displays a single results screen that explains how food may affect your body, including physical responses and mental effects.

The focus is on clear, calm interpretation — not calorie counting, dieting, or medical advice.

• Built-in barcode scanner (no AI, no photo recognition)
• Food data lookup via Open Food Facts

Important:
Barcode scanning must be available to all users without paywalls, additional downloads, or per-scan charges, using a standard on-device Android barcode library (e.g. Google ML Kit or ZXing).

What is NOT included (out of scope)
• iOS version
• User accounts or login
• Subscriptions or payments
• Food comparisons or alternatives
• Deep-dive explanations
• Personalisation
• Analytics dashboards
• Food images
• Animations or complex UI

1. App name: ValueMe Subtext: by Value Me Health

3. Serving size (as per label only)
4. One summary sentence (based on food category)
5. Nutritional Snapshot (numeric values with units only)
o Calories
o Sugar (g)
o Fibre (g)
o Protein (g)
o Sodium (mg)
The Nutritional Snapshot displays numbers only. It must not show ratings, labels, thresholds, colour coding, or interpretation. All interpretation occurs in the sections below.

o Skin

No images, no grouping headers, no additional labels.
Lean logic (summary)

• Sugar threshold: >12 g per serving = high
• Simple conditional text for Energy, Mood, Digestion, and Skin
• Skin is always displayed, with wording changing based on sugar level
• App must handle missing or unavailable data gracefully without crashing
Language handling (important)

Each section (Energy, Mood, Digestion, Skin) should display one sentence selected at random from a small, fixed list (up to 5 sentences per section).

• No weighting
• No memory
• No personalisation
• No sentence libraries beyond the fixed lists

Full sentence sets and logic will be shared with shortlisted candidates.

Lean V1 should be built simply and directly.
