"Armbrella is a health and wellness mobile app focused on fitness, engagement, and habit-building through social interaction and rewards.

We are looking for an experienced React Native developer to take ownership of fixing, rebuilding, and polishing key features in the app. The app was previously developed by an agency, but it has been left with several bugs and partially implemented features. We now want to stabilise the app and significantly improve the user experience.

The core focus of this project is short-form video content (Reels-style), music/audio integration, social interactions, and a gamified rewards system, inspired by platforms like Instagram Reels and TikTok, but tailored for wellness and fitness use cases.

What We’re Building / Improving
The goal is to create an engaging experience where users can:
- Upload and share short wellness and fitness videos
- Add royalty-free music or audio tracks to videos
- Interact socially (likes, comments, follows)
- Earn reward points for engagement and completed activities

Key Tasks & Requirements
1. Reels / Short-Form Video Feature (High Priority)
2. The existing reels feature needs to be rebuilt and polished:
3. Upload short videos (Reels-style feed)
4. Select a royalty-free audio track

Allow:
- Trimming the audio if the video is longer than the audio
- Trimming the video if the audio is longer than the video
- Preview the final combined video before publishing
- Option to mute the original video audio
- Smooth UX similar to Instagram/TikTok reels creation flow

2. Bug Fixing & Stability Improvements
- There are multiple issues that need investigation and fixing:
- Data not being saved correctly in some flows
- API calls intermittently failing
- Inconsistent state handling
- General reliability and edge-case bugs introduced by the previous agency

We expect the freelancer to debug, refactor where necessary, and improve overall stability.

3. Rewards & Gamification Fixes
The app includes a rewards system, but it is currently inconsistent:
- Reward points are not always credited when activities are completed
- Fix logic to ensure points are awarded correctly for:
- Activity completion
- Engagement actions (where applicable)
- Ensure rewards are reflected correctly in the UI and backend

4. Reward Animation & UX Polish
- We want to enhance the experience when users earn points:
- Add an animation when reward points are added
Example: a coin flying toward the rewards balance, confetti-style feedback
- Smooth, delightful micro-interactions
- Improve UI/UX wherever it feels unfinished or rough

What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with React Native

Experience with:
- Video processing (trimming, merging audio/video)
- Media playback and previews
- Animations (Reanimated, Lottie, or similar)
- Comfortable working with existing codebases
- Able to debug, refactor, and improve architecture
- Good eye for UI/UX polish
- Willing to take ownership rather than just deliver isolated tasks
