Project description:
"We are looking for an experienced developer to implement a complete VOD ABR (Adaptive Bitrate) video encoding solution using FFmpeg, deployed on an Ubuntu server.
Core Requirements:
Back-End Encoding Engine:
Use FFmpeg for encoding video and audio into 5 resolutions suitable for HLS streaming.
Efficient ABR implementation with smil manifest generation.
Must support audio/video encoding with configurable parameters.
Web Interface for Configuration & Monitoring:
FTP Configuration Panel:
Upload source movies via FTP.
Push encoded outputs to a remote storage server via FTP.
FFmpeg Configuration Panel:
Define encoding profiles (bitrate, resolution, codec, etc.).
Create and save up to 5 presets.
Encoding Status Screen:
Display uploaded movies with status (pending, processing, completed, error).
Show smil file after encoding.
Watch link to preview encoded output in browser.
Tech Stack Preferred:
Ubuntu 20.04 or newer
FFmpeg (latest version)
PHP / Python / Node.js (open to discussion)
MySQL / PostgreSQL (optional)
HTML5/JS for front-end dashboard
Deliverables:
Working solution installed and tested on our Ubuntu server.
