Project description:
"Project Overview:
We are a construction company seeking to develop a comprehensive mobile and web application to streamline communication and operations between our construction sites and our main office. The primary goal is to create an efficient system for tracking daily site activities, managing material requests, and monitoring the entire procurement process in real-time.
Key User Roles:
Site Engineer (Mobile App User): Field personnel who will use the mobile app to report daily progress and manage on-site material logistics.
Office Administrator (Web App User): Office-based staff who will use a web-based dashboard to monitor all site activities, process requests, and manage procurement.
Core Features - Mobile App (for Site Engineers):
App should show all the on going site-project name with photo
Inside each project there should be these options:
1. Daily Activity Log:
A simple interface for site engineers to create and submit a "Daily Progress Report."
Each report should include the date and the specific site/project name.
Ability to attach multiple forms of media to the report:
Photo Upload: Take pictures directly through the app or upload from the device's gallery.
Text Notes: A text field for detailed descriptions of the day's work, challenges, and milestones.
Audio Notes: Record and attach short audio clips for quick, hands-free updates.
2. Material Request System:
A dedicated module for engineers to request materials needed on site.
The request form should include fields for:
Material Name/Description
Required Quantity (e.g., bags, tons, units)
Urgency Level (e.g., High, Medium, Low)
A section for additional notes or specifications.
3. Material Receipt Confirmation:
When materials are delivered to the site, the engineer must be able to confirm receipt through the app.
This feature should allow the engineer to:
Select the corresponding material request/order.
Take and upload a photograph of the delivered materials and the delivery challan/invoice as proof of receipt.
Add notes regarding the condition of the materials (e.g., "damaged," "partial delivery").
Core Features - Web App (for Office Administrators):
1. Centralized Dashboard:
A comprehensive overview of all ongoing projects.
Ability to add new projects (in-the-future)
Should display real-time updates from all sites at a glance.
2. Site Activity Monitoring:
A dedicated view to browse all submitted "Daily Activity Logs" from site engineers.
Ability to filter logs by project/site, date range, and type of media.
View all photos, read text descriptions, and play back audio notes associated with each report.
3. Material & Procurement Management:
A unified dashboard to view and manage all material requests from all sites.
The workflow should be clearly visible with the following statuses:
Material Request: A new request submitted by a site engineer.
Order Placed: The office admin can update the status to "Order Placed" and add details like Vendor Name, expected delivery date, and purchase order number.
Material Delivered: The status automatically updates when a site engineer confirms receipt via the mobile app. The uploaded photo of the delivered goods should be visible here.
4. Query & Communication Module:
A simple messaging or comment feature to allow office staff to ask questions or clarify details on specific activity logs or material requests.
Site engineers should receive a notification on their mobile app and be able to respond." (client-provided description)
