Overview:
I am looking for a e-commerce developer to build a complete and fully functional online store for my brand, ready for an international launch. The target markets are North America (USA, Canada) and Europe. The goal is to have the website 100% technically ready, so the only remaining task for me is to add my products and set their prices.

The store will sell home decor items. The aesthetic should be clean, elegant, and modern to reflect the product style.

Platform:
Shopify is the preferred platform due to its robust international sales features and user-friendly interface. Proposals based on Shopify will be prioritised. If you strongly believe another platform is superior for this specific international scope, please provide a detailed justification.

Key Deliverables & Scope of Work:

Full Store Setup & International Configuration:

Install and configure Shopify.

Connect my custom domain.

Internationalisation: Set up the store to handle sales, shipping, and compliance for the USA, Canada, and Europe. This is the most critical part of the project.

Theme & Design:

Recommend and install a high-quality, mobile-responsive premium theme suitable for an international audience.

Customize the theme to match my brand's aesthetic (logo, brand colors, and fonts will be provided).

Design a clean and intuitive homepage layout.

Ensure a consistent and professional design across all pages.

Essential Pages & Legal Compliance:

Create and populate essential pages: Home, Shop, Collections, About Us, Contact Us, FAQ.

Crucially, create robust policy pages tailored for international sales:

Shipping Policy (with international rates/times).

Refund & Return Policy (addressing international returns).

Terms of Service & Privacy Policy (must be GDPR compliant for European customers).

Functionality for Global Sales:

Multi-Currency & Payments:

Set up Shopify Payments to display prices in local currencies (e.g., USD, CAD, EUR) and process payments from international cards.

Integrate PayPal as a secondary option.

International Shipping & Taxes:

Configure shipping zones for the USA, Canada, and each key European country.

Set up shipping rates that can handle international logistics (e.g., weight-based or carrier-calculated).

Correctly configure tax settings to handle US sales tax, Canadian GST/HST, and European VAT. This is essential and requires expertise.

App/Plugin Installation:

Install apps for SEO, Product Reviews, and Email Marketing (Mailchimp/Klaviyo).

Install a GDPR/cookie consent banner.

Recommend and install any other apps critical for managing international sales.

Product Page Template:

Create a well-designed product page template that is easy for me to use. It must include sections for image galleries, detailed descriptions, price (which should display in local currency), an "Add to Cart" button, and customer reviews.

What I will Provide:

Logo and brand style guide.

Content/text for the "About Us" and "FAQ" pages.

Details for payment gateway and business registration for setup.

I will upload all final products, photos, and descriptions myself after the handover.

Ideal Freelancer:

Proven experience building and launching Shopify stores with a focus on international sales (US, Canada, Europe). This is a mandatory requirement.

A strong portfolio showcasing live, international e-commerce websites.

Deep understanding of setting up international shipping, multi-currency, and complex tax rules (VAT/GST).

Knowledge of GDPR compliance for e-commerce.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver a polished, bug-free, and fully tested website.

Final Goal:
The project is complete when the website is live, fully operational for customers in North America and Europe, and I can independently start adding my products without needing any further technical development. A brief handover guide on adding products and managing international orders is required.
