Project description:
"I operate a cold-storage facility and our current offline program no longer meets our needs. Its main shortcoming is the limited feature set, so I’m looking to have a new desktop application built from scratch (no cloud dependency).

What the new system must do
• Robust inventory management – track inbound and outbound lots, weight/volume, client-specific stock, chamber locations, and expiry or rotation rules.
• Flexible, customisable reporting – I need to design and save my own report layouts (for example: monthly occupancy by client, charge summaries for any date range, or stock levels per chamber). Reports should export to PDF and Excel at minimum.

Nice-to-have items such as integrated temperature monitoring or one-click daily snapshots could be considered later, but they are not part of the core brief right now.

Key expectations
1. Runs fully offline on Windows PCs used in the warehouse office.
2. Simple, intuitive interface that my non-technical staff can learn quickly.
3. Structured database (SQLite or similar) with clear backup/restore options.
4. Source code, compiled installer, and user guide delivered on completion." (client-provided description)
