"My goal is to build a polished Android application that lets customers browse our jewellery collection and purchase pieces directly from their phones.

Core requirements
• Product catalogue – items need to be displayed with images, descriptions, prices, and real-time stock status.
• Shopping cart – users should be able to add, edit, and remove items, then proceed to checkout smoothly.

Authentication
I would like an alternative to the standard email/password or social-login flows. If you have experience implementing secure but lightweight options—such as phone-number OTP, or another modern approach—please outline your recommendation and how it will integrate with the cart flow.

Tech expectations
The build should be native to Android (Android Studio with Kotlin or Java) and follow current Material Design guidelines so it feels familiar and intuitive. Clean, well-documented code is essential because I will be maintaining the catalogue content in future updates.
