Project description:
"My Laravel-based multi-vendor marketplace currently lives on a subdomain ([login to view URL]). I want every seller to be free to:
• keep their autogenerated subdomain,
• bring their own custom domain, or
• point to one of several house-owned domains I will provide.
Once the domain is chosen, the platform must automatically handle three things:
1. redirect any existing URLs to the new address,
2. serve unique storefront content on each domain, and
3. allow me to add, edit, or remove sub-domains and custom domains from an admin panel without touching code.
Because many of my sellers are non-technical, I also need full DNS help—from generating the correct A, CNAME, or ALIAS records through to SSL provisioning (Let’s Encrypt or similar). Everything should work whether the store is on Apache or Nginx behind a load balancer.
Acceptance criteria
• Seller can select or enter a domain in their dashboard and see an immediate status checklist (records to add, SSL issued, propagation OK).
• Laravel routes resolve to the correct storefront, cart, and checkout for every domain or subdomain.
• 301 redirects are in place after a domain change so search rankings are preserved.
• Admin panel shows current DNS health and lets me disable or transfer a domain on demand.
Please base the solution on best-practice multi-tenant patterns in PHP/Laravel and document any third-party packages or DNS providers used so my in-house team can maintain it long term." (client-provided description)
