Project description:
"I’ve just finished my M.Sc. in Information Technology and, as a true fresher, I want to turn the theory I learned into a small but meaningful real-world project that will showcase my skills to employers. The usual categories (pure software dev, data analysis, or IT support) don’t quite fit what I have in mind, so I picked “other” in the form.
What I need is a patient mentor-style freelancer who can guide me through the entire lifecycle of a compact yet professional IT project—from clarifying a realistic scope, choosing an appropriate tech stack, and setting up the repository, through writing well-structured, commented code, to preparing concise documentation and a short walkthrough presentation. I’m open to almost any modern language or framework that makes sense for a graduate portfolio piece; the key is that I understand every line and can speak to it during interviews.
Deliverables
• Project plan outlining milestones, chosen tools, and learning objectives
• Source code with clear comments and version control history (Git)
• Lightweight technical documentation (readme, install steps, architecture diagram)
• Final presentation deck (5–10 slides) explaining the problem, solution, and my personal contributions
Acceptance Criteria
1. I can build and run the project locally without errors.
2. I can explain the main components in my own words after your walkthrough.
3. Repository and documents are tidy and professional enough to share with recruiters.
If you enjoy coaching juniors and can commit to regular check-ins over the next few weeks, I’d love to work together and put my new knowledge into action." (client-provided description)
