Project description:
"I’m building a desktop image-editing application that feels as intuitive to a first-time user in Hyderabad as it does to a seasoned designer in Delhi. From day one the tool must offer solid, professional-grade editing—crop and resize, reliable color correction, and full layer management—while wrapping those capabilities in an interface that speaks Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu just as fluently as English.
On top of the essentials I want to weave in AI help where it matters most: one-click auto-enhance, background removal that can isolate products or portraits with minimal cleanup, and face recognition to make tagging albums effortless. These features should run locally for speedy, private processing; if cloud calls are unavoidable, I’ll need clear fallback behaviour when the user is offline.
Accessibility is not a side feature but a pillar. The interface must be equally welcoming to non-English speakers and to users with visual impairments. That means screen-reader-friendly controls, proper high-contrast and scalable UI layouts, and spoken tooltips paired with the regional-language text. Keyboard-only navigation needs to cover every operation right down to naming layers or confirming an AI suggestion.
Deliverables I’ll review against:
• A cross-platform desktop build (Windows first, macOS a bonus) packaged for easy installation.
• Source code with clear module boundaries for core editing, AI utilities, and i18n/a11y layers.
• Language resource files for Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu that I can extend later.
• A short demo video showing a visually impaired workflow and a non-English workflow, proving parity of experience.
• Setup notes for any external models or libraries so future updates stay maintainable.
If you’ve shipped desktop apps with image processing stacks—OpenCV, Skia, or similar—and know your way around localisation pipelines and accessibility APIs (UI Automation, MSAA, NVDA, or equivalent on macOS), let’s make this editor the inclusive standard for creators across India."
