"The Flatmate Finder and Apartment Sharing Platform is a full-stack website built to connect users seeking housing, roommates, or shared rental opportunities. All users must register via email/password (with optional social login) and verify their email before accessing features. Each user completes a profile containing structured fields like age, occupation, gender ext... all of which are reused across the platform to populate posts and support filtering. Users can create one of three post types: (1) Looking for a Room, (2) Offering a Room/Apartment, or (3) Team Up to Find a Place Together. Each post type has its own distinct form schema, validation, filters, and is rendered on a dedicated route (e.g., /looking, /offering, /team-up) with type-specific search and filter logic. Posts are tied to the user profile and contain both user data and post-specific fields (e.g., rent, address, photos, lease type, lifestyle of household, etc.). Admins can access a private dashboard with controls to manage users, posts, flag/report content, ban users, and view analytics like DAUs, search trends, and post volume. The recommended tech stack is React.js (frontend), Node.js + Express or Django (backend), PostgreSQL or MongoDB (database), Firebase Auth (auth/login), Cloudinary (for profile and post images), and [login to view URL] or Firebase Realtime for live messaging and team features.
The website needds to be designedto be scalale as at a later stage we will introduce Team Up feature that allows users to create or join a group, which triggers the creation of a Group object that includes multiple users, a shared group profile (merged preferences, budget, etc.), a group chat, and a shared saved listings board. Messaging is handled in three modes: 1-on-1 (user to user), intra-team chat, and group-to-poster chat (where a team contacts a poster collectively).
