"I’m spinning up a new service and I need a Python-based RESTful backend that can be built, run, and scaled entirely inside Docker. The core task is to write clean, well-structured API code—preferably with FastAPI or Flask—wrap it in a Docker image, and give me everything I need to launch the container with a single command.

I already know the data structures and endpoints I want, so you can focus on:
• Building the REST endpoints in Python
• Writing a Dockerfile (and, if helpful, a [login to view URL]) that handles dependencies, environment variables, and port exposure
• Adding a brief README or inline comments so I can rebuild or extend the image later

If you have experience pushing Docker images to a registry or automating builds through GitHub Actions, mention it—those skills will be useful once the first version is stable.

Deliverables: a working Docker image, the source code, and simple usage instructions. Once I can run `docker compose up` (or an equivalent single-line command) and hit the endpoints locally, the job is done." (client-provided description)
