"I’m working on a vehicle scene in Unity and need a custom shader that makes a windshield wiper realistically sweep away dry dust, rain and snow. The effect should start with a uniformly dusty glass surface and reveal a clear, lightly-scratched pane along the wiper’s arc as each pass occurs. I’d like the dust to build up again over time if no wipe happens, so the transition feels natural during longer gameplay sessions. And it should compatible with mobile. If you want a reference truckers of Europe 3 will be a good starting point.
I’m on the latest LTS version of Unity and can integrate either a Shader Graph or hand-written HLSL solution inside URP; whichever gives the cleanest result and runs efficiently on mid-range hardware. The shader should expose simple controls in the Inspector for dust density, recollection speed, wipe smoothness, and arc angle so I can reuse it on different vehicle models.
