Project description:
"I have a live e-commerce site and I now need to take card payments through the BNP Paribas payment gateway. The site is already coded, so this task is purely about adding the new gateway with clean, well-documented raw code—no third-party plugins or “all-in-one” libraries.

What I will hand over:
• Access to a staging copy of the current codebase
• BNP Paribas sandbox credentials and official API documentation

What I need back:
• A fully working checkout flow that sends the charge request to BNP Paribas, handles the response (success, decline, 3-D Secure where applicable), and writes the result to our existing order table
• Front-end and back-end code comments concise enough for another developer to maintain
• Clear instructions for moving the integration from sandbox to production
• A short handoff call or screencast confirming the flow in action

Acceptance criteria:
1. A test card transaction in sandbox completes and updates the order status automatically.
2. All sensitive data is tokenised or transmitted server-to-server—no PCI data exposed in the browser.
3. No regression issues in the current checkout for other payment methods.

The current stack is PHP 8 with vanilla JavaScript, but if you prefer a different language for the server callout let me know and we can discuss. Turnaround within a week would be ideal, but quality and security come first." (client-provided description)
