"I already have a working Shopify checkout UI extension written in the new app framework. What I need now is for that extension to tap into our loyalty service and automatically turn a customer’s points balance into a live discount during checkout.

Here is the exact flow I am after:

• Cart page

 – Prompt the shopper for their username / password (the service is secured with Basic Authentication).
 – Call the loyalty endpoint, retrieve the user’s points balance, and show a friendly line such as “You have 3 200 points (R 3 200).”

• Checkout UI extension

 – Convert the balance into South-African Rand on the fly.
 – Inject a discount that deducts up to the full cart subtotal.
 – If the balance fully covers the order, the amount due should read R 0 and the thank-you page must confirm that the order was paid with points.
 – If the balance is not enough, leave the remaining amount so the customer can pay by card.

All logic has to run client-side inside the checkout extension while the actual balance fetch stays server-side behind Basic Auth. I will provide the current extension repository and the loyalty API endpoint; you only need to expand the React component (Shopify Checkout UI Extensions API) and connect it to the existing proxy route.

Deliverable
• Updated extension code, ready to deploy, that satisfies the flow above and passes Shopify CLI validation.
