"I’m upgrading an existing ride-hailing platform that runs on a custom PHP/Laravel backend and a native Kotlin Android code-base. The core is stable, but several new features and refinements are now on the roadmap and I’d like an experienced full-stack engineer to handle them end-to-end.

Current state
• Passenger and driver apps are live in beta, using Firebase for push and Google Maps SDK for live location.
• Back-office screens exist, but need better role management and clearer trip analytics.

What needs to happen next
1. Extend the API layer (PHP) so trips, driver statuses, and surge pricing can be updated in real time without the latency we see now.
2. Refactor the Kotlin client to consume the new endpoints, with offline queueing for patchy network areas.
3. Integrate a second payment gateway (the code already supports Stripe; I need Paystack added with a graceful fallback).
4. Strengthen socket handling for live driver tracking; Pusher is in place, but MQTT or [login to view URL] may be better—open to your recommendation.
5. Polish the admin dashboard—mainly charts (Highcharts) and export tools—so ops can slice data by city and vehicle category.

Deliverables
• Updated PHP source with unit tests (PHPUnit) and clear commit messages
• Kotlin app modules ready for release build, plus proguard rules
• Migration/rollback scripts for MySQL 8
• Concise README covering build, deploy, and configuration steps

Acceptance criteria
– End-to-end test shows a passenger booking, driver acceptance, live tracking, completed payment (both Stripe and Paystack) with no 5xx errors in logs.
– Location updates <2 s lag under 500 concurrent trips (we’ll run [login to view URL] together to verify).
– Admin dashboard renders analytics in <1 s for a 100 k trip dataset.

I’ll provide Git access, staging servers, API keys, and the current Trello board. Communication can be through Slack with at least one code review session per milestone.
