Project description:
"I already have a Raspberry Pi, an RTL-SDR stick and the LED/buzzer hardware installed in my car; what’s missing is the know-how to turn that pile into a dependable C2000 detector. Your mission is to help me finish the system so it continuously scans 380–420 MHz, measures signal strength and, once a user-set threshold is reached, drives a multicolour LED bar plus a small piezo buzzer.
Here is what I still need:
• RTL-SDR calibration and gain/AGC tuning for the C2000 band, preferably using rtl_power, GNU Radio or a Python wrapper such as pyrtlsdr.
• A lightweight Python script that runs on the Pi, logs RSSI, and controls the GPIO-connected LED segments and buzzer with minimal latency.
• Guidance on designing or trimming a stealth antenna that can live hidden behind — or even inside — a plastic bumper without sacrificing too much sensitivity; NEC2, 3D-printed housings or simple coax stubs are all fair game.
• A short remote (or if you’re in the Netherlands, in-car) test session to verify the detector triggers reliably around live C2000 traffic, plus tweaks to cut false positives.
I will grant you SSH access to the Pi for live debugging, share sample IQ captures and handle any soldering or mechanical tweaks you specify. Once the detector behaves consistently and the code is commented and pushed to my Git repo, the job is done." (client-provided description)
