### Project Overview

Seeking a specialized **macOS developer** to create a proof of concept based on the AirtagAlex project.

Key Requirements:
- Extract the following data from AirTags:
- Location data
- Battery status
- Proximity alerts
- Support both GUI and CLI interfaces

### What is AirtagAlex?

AirtagAlex is a shell script that extracts AirTag metadata from macOS `[login to view URL]` file, including:
- GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude)
- Geocoding information
- Precision range data
- Battery status
- CSV export functionality

### Project Objectives

- **Implement and test** AirtagAlex script across macOS versions Sonoma 14.3.1)
- **Document findings** and propose improvements
- **Create optional GUI** for easier usage

## Technical Requirements

- **Advanced macOS experience**
- Deep understanding of **macOS file system**
- Expertise in **shell scripting** (bash/zsh)
- Proficiency with **command-line tools** (jq, grep, awk)
- Understanding of **system permissions** and Full Disk Access
- Experience with **binary file analysis**
- Strong UI/UX design skills for creating intuitive interfaces
- Familiarity with CLI tools and commands
- Knowledge of Apple's **Find My protocol**

### MANDATORY Hardware Requirements for POC

Mac computer compatible with macOS Sonoma

Must be able to run macOS Sonoma 14.3.1 or later
No virtual machines or simulators accepted
Physical AirTag devices (minimum 2 units)
Must be your own personal AirTags
Registered to your Apple ID
Active and functional for testing

## Phase 1 - Proof of Concept:

Feasibility report with technical analysis of current limitations
Working POC script demonstrating core functionality
Compatibility matrix by macOS version (tested up to August 2025)
Technical documentation of findings and approach
Recommendation report for Phase 2 implementation
Demo video showing POC functionality

## Phase 2 - Production Implementation:
(Contracted separately after successful POC)

Production-ready solution.
Comprehensive documentation for installation and usage
Solution proposals for recent macOS versions
Optimized performance for large datasets
Commented source code with version control
Optional GUI for end-user accessibility
