Project description:
"This is a web application built with [login to view URL], React, and TypeScript, designed as an interactive toolkit for teachers or trainers to engage their students or learners in a classroom setting. It uses Firebase for all its backend services.
User Roles: The app has two distinct user roles: trainer and student. Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth, with role data stored in Firestore.
Classes: Trainers can create "classes," which act as containers for their students and activities. Each class gets a unique, shareable invite code.
Student Enrollment: Students sign up and can join multiple classes using the invite codes provided by their trainers.
The application is structured as a suite of self-contained "tools" that a trainer can launch for a specific class:
PicPick (Photo Contests): This is the most developed feature. Trainers can create photo contests where students can upload images and vote for their favorites. It includes a real-time leaderboard, podium display for winners, password protection for private contests, and customizable image shapes (circular, square, etc.).
LiveVote (Real-time Polls): Trainers can create multiple-choice polls on the fly. When a poll is activated, students can join a session with a simple code and vote. The results are updated in real-time on a separate projector-friendly display view. This is powered by the Firebase Realtime Database.
Quiz Battle: A live quiz game. Trainers can upload a set of questions from a CSV file, and the app hosts a game lobby. Students join with a room code and compete to answer questions the fastest for points.
Randomizer Wheel: A classic spinning wheel that can be populated with student names from the class roster (or any custom list) to randomly select a winner.
Tickr (Class Timer): A shared, synchronized timer that can be used for activities, breaks, or presentations. It can be set as a countdown or to end at a specific time of day.
Other Tools (Stubs): Several other features like a Word Cloud generator, a virtual buzzer system, and a Q&A "parking lot" are planned and have placeholder pages.
Frontend: [login to view URL] (App Router), React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS.
UI: Built with shadcn/ui components, ensuring a consistent and modern look and feel.
Backend: Firebase
Authentication: Manages user sign-up, login, and roles.
Firestore: The primary database for persistent data like users, classes, contest details, and image metadata.
Realtime Database: Used for the low-latency, real-time features like Live Polls and Quiz Battle sessions.
Storage: Stores all user-uploaded images for the photo contests.
Cloud Functions: Handles backend logic, such as deleting a contest and all its associated data (images in Storage, votes in Firestore, etc.) and managing class enrollment." (client-provided description)
