Project description:
"Handy Online is a professional mobile app with a web admin panel that connects anyone who needs a service with anyone who can provide it.
Customers can quickly post a service request or create an auction with photos for any type of job.
Service providers receive notifications instantly and submit price offers (bids).
Customers compare bids, chat with providers, and choose the best offer.
Payments are managed securely through escrow and released only when the job is completed.
The platform charges a 5% commission per transaction.
Admin can add unlimited service categories and manage disputes easily.
Project: Handy Online – Service Marketplace
(MVP)
1) Overview
Build a mobile app and web admin called Handy Online that connects customers with local service
pros. Platform takes 5% commission per completed job. App must support English only. Admin should
be able to add new service categories at any time. Customers should also be able to post custom
services if not available in the catalog, and post them as auctions with photos where providers can bid
with their price offers.
2) Goals
•
•
•
•
Let customers post a job/auction in < 2 minutes and get bids fast.
Let pros bid competitively, schedule, and get paid.
Safe payments, reviews, and simple admin oversight.
Flexible categories: future-proof to support any service (not just construction).
3) User Roles
•
•
•
Customer (post jobs/auctions, pay, review)
Pro / Service Provider (verify identity, list skills, bid/quote, get paid)
Admin (approve providers, manage disputes, add/edit categories, analytics)
4) MVP Scope & Features

Providers get notified of new auctions and can submit bids (price + time estimate).
Customer can view all bids, compare, and select winner.
C. Booking & Workflow
•
•
In-app chat (text + photo) between customer and provider.
Bid acceptance -> booking -> on-site status (arrived / in progress / done).
1
Cancellations & simple refund rules (admin-configurable).

Hold funds in escrow until job completion; release after customer confirms.
Provider KYC onboarding flow.
E. Ratings, Reviews & Disputes
•
•
Post-job rating (1–5) + comments both ways.
Basic dispute form; admin resolution with partial refunds.
F. Notifications
•
Push + email + SMS (for critical events).
G. Admin Console (Web)
•
•
•
Dashboard (users, jobs, payments, disputes, KYC status, take rates).
CRUD for categories (add/remove/edit at any time).
Manual identity verification toggle.
H. Legal & Policies

Questions for Freelancers
1) What tech stack do you propose and why (Flutter vs React Native, Node vs Django)? 2) How will you
implement auction bidding flow and escrow? 3) How will custom service posting be handled? 4) What is
your testing plan (unit/E2E) and performance strategy? 5) What experience does your team have with
geo-based and real-time apps? 6) Provide detailed timeline and main risks.
Note: Name of the app is fixed: Handy Online. Commission fixed at 5% for MVP. Admin
must be able to add new categories anytime, and customers must be able to post custom
services or auctions outside catalog.
