"I need my existing Java-based Android application brought fully in line with Android 15 (API 35). The codebase is stable and already live on Google Play; however, new Play Console requirements mean it must now compile and target the latest SDK.

Your task is to migrate the project so it builds cleanly in the current stable release of Android Studio and functions flawlessly on devices running Android 8 through Android 15. All core features stay the same, but every deprecated or breaking change introduced since our current target SDK must be handled.

Key deliverables
• Update Gradle files, build tools and target/compile SDK to 35
• Refactor or replace APIs deprecated between our present level and API 35 (permissions, notifications, background execution, scoped storage, etc.)
• Verify libraries and Play Services versions are compatible with the new SDK and the Java codebase
• Produce a release-ready AAB plus source project that compiles with zero errors and minimal warnings
• Provide a concise change log and notes on any workaround or future-watch items
